It's only been a few months, but I have to say that it's been the longest few months of my life.

Without my shining star, who will light my way in the darkest of nights?

HJO Quotes [Jul. 22nd, 2006|04:58 am]

[mood |tiredtired]

I'd just like to share some profound nuggets of wisdom with all of you — spoken as only Haley Joel Osment could speak them.

“I like normal stuff people fear - like spiders and heights. I'm frightened by the unknown, by things that are hard to figure out and get a grip on.”

“I never wanted to do Harry Potter. I thought it should have stayed as a book. There are some books that should be made into movies and some that shouldn't. Harry Potter is 70% imagination. When the movie comes out, it's going to be such a stereotype for kids. When they think of Harry Potter, they're going to think of what is portrayed on screen.”

“I try to keep away from being bigheaded. That's what causes people to lose the acting thing. They start being commercial, and then they stink for the rest of their life. But there are several respected adult actors who were child actors that started very young. I'm going to try and model myself after Kurt Russell and Jodie Foster. Just keep learning from the role and not just go for the money.”

“I don't think I'll ever get tired of it (acting). I'll definitely want to continue doing it for the rest of my life. I have thought about it, but I don't think I'll ever lose the interest for it. And maybe [I] want to get on the other side of the camera and do some directing when I get older.”

“My favorite place is Central Park because you never know what you're going to find there. I also like that when I look out the windows of surrounding hotels, it's seems like I'm looking out over a forest.”

    “How old is he?”
[In reply to a statement by a member of the press asking HJO if he was aware that child actor Frankie Muniz had most of his money stolen from him by his parents.]

    “Home of the Giants,”
[In reference to a movie he was making at the time. His nose started to bleed when he said this (most speculate from nasal degeneration caused by heavy cocaine use) and he had to stop speaking mid-sentence.]

“This one is perfect for this age for me.”
[In reply to a question about the obscene age gap between HJO and his arm candy of the week (then Elizabeth Taylor).]

Goodnight, friends. May the words of an angel speak to your heart.

Intense Pain [Jul. 22nd, 2006|04:39 am]

Dear Press,

HJO's untimely passing has been all over the news lately. In fact, it's all I see whenever I turn on my TV, or direct my browser to one of many news sources I consult online.

I just can't bear to read it anymore. Why do you people keep putting images in our minds of his horrible death? Must the entire world continue to relive this tragedy?

You've done your damage, press. Please just leave HJO alone. It's time to accept his absence, and grow from what he's taught us, not dwell on the grotesque, depraved details of his last few moments on God's Green Earth™.

Yours Truly,
nathanisawesome

Dear rip_hjo,

Thank you for continuing to be a fountain of love and support for me and the rest of Haley Joel's loyal fan-base. It is my dream to be able to touch just half as many people as HJO did in his short, blond life. We must remember that even as we mourn his passing, his good works get paid more and more forward every day. Try to remember that in times of intense pain.

I know I will.

I'll never be able to look at a 1995 Saturn the same way again.

One Final Post [Jul. 22nd, 2006|12:34 am]

I will keep Haley Joel Osment in my prayers. I do not understand why my previous comments have been erased, but I guess that is up to the head of the community. If this is erased too, know that I hold Haley and his family dear in my hearts, and I will forever be touched by what he's accomplished. I still reiterate that he remains alive, and yes, he deserves our prayers and support. I wish the best for everyone in this community, and that everyone remains hopeful.

HJO Vigil Postponed [Jul. 21st, 2006|09:00 pm]

It pierces me straight to the bone to have to say that the Reno NV Haley Joel Osment memorial candlelight vigil has been postponed due to inclement thunderstorms.

Please keep HJO in your hearts, even in this period of darkness.

Remember, he's touched us; now we all must touch three people.

God bless all of you.

I also find dousedingin's post inappropriate. However, who are we to say what HJO may or may not have appreciated?

I think in this difficult time it's important for all of us to find strength in this incredible Community of loyal HJO devotees. It would be easy to try to find ways to divide all of us, and that's what the nay-sayers would love to do.

Find strength in the undeniable truth that Haley Joel Osment is dead, and we are his only fans who care enough to accept that.

I know I'm being extra sensitive, but I find the entry posted by dousedingin below very offensive. I think this lj user is making fun of our community by saying rude things. I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but I just think a little tact would be appreciated in these dark times.

That said, I've been watching Artificial Intelligence, The Sixth Sense, Secondhand Lions, Pay It Forward, and Forrest Gump over and over again. I'm trying to find the Touched by an Angel episode that he's in, but it's hard to find. If anyone has it, let me know, ok?

Thanks for being a part of this community, guys. I really feel the support.

I appreciate that this community was erected so swiftly. I was alarmed to know that we have lost such an acclaimed, blond, young actor.

I've noticed some people on LJ appearing to dispute or not accept what's happened to HaJo, & after being reminded of a Native American saying, I know now just what these people are trying to tell us. So, without further ado, the saying:

Don't stand by my grave

Don't stand by my grave and weep,
For I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond's glint in the snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
In the soft blush of the morning light
I am the swift bird in flight.
Don't stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there,
I did not die.
